Let me clear up confusion about eyebrow tattooing….

What is “Hair Stroke/Feathered/Embroidered Brows”?

Hair Stroke/Feathered Brows/Embroidered Brows are all the same thing. Hair stroke / Feathered and Embroidered Brows. Depending on who you talk to and where they had their Cosmetic Tattooing/Semi Permanent Makeup/Permanent Makeup done may be the difference between what they call their own procedure.

Firstly:
Let me differentiate between Block/Powder Finish and Hair stroke / Feathered and Embroidered Brows.

The original form of eyebrow tattoo was called a block finish (now called a powder finish).
Essentially, this involves pigment (aka colour) being deposited in the skin giving a gorgeous solid finish, whilst still maintaining a beautiful shape and end result.

Powdered eyebrows

This style of eyebrow tattoo will last 3-5 years.

Then, more recently, came about the more delicate Hair stroke/Feathered and Embroidered Brows, which mimics the actual hair, with fine mismatched lines. The result is a more natural looking, shaped brow.

This style of eyebrow tattoo will need to be redone in 2 years or under, this will make the eyebrow look not so faded again.

Both of the above procedures use pigment (not ink like a body tattoo). This pigment is water based and soluble and disperses into the skin over time.
As there is more pigment in the powdered brow it lasts longer than the HFE brow.

Both techniques have their place and both performed correctly can have a stunning outcome.

This eyebrow technique will last about 2 years.

Secondly:
How do you decide what is best for you?

A powdered brow can be beautiful and look natural and subtle – fabulous for blondes and more mature ladies.
However, Hair stroke / Feathered and Embroidered Brows. uses a darker colour but the thin lines are scattered quite uniformly which overall makes the colour appear lighter at the end result.

Instantly both techniques will give a great result. There are some shocking stories out there about eyebrow tattooing (but there is some a lot of absolutely divine work) and by carefully selecting the right technician you will find ultimate satisfaction. Do your homework, research and try to speak with your chosen tattooist to check she is on the same page as you, and is happily listening to your needs and desires.

I will tell you also that every time a lady has her eyebrows tattooed with me her comment more often than not has been, “I wish I had done this years ago”!!

Look at why you want your brows tattooed:
– for daily convenience
– you are sick to death of penciling them in everyday
– you need a lift and this will make you feel and look better – you are frustrated by drawing odd brows daily
– your brows have disappeared
– your vision is poor and you just can’t see them
– your brows are uneven

OR.. .. My favourite answer
– your face needs some colour and shape and you have been told this little adjustment to your brows will give you just that!! AND THEY WILL!

Thirdly:
The Actual Procedure.

Your treatment will take between 1-2.5 hours. During this time you will have a topical anaesthetic applied to your brow making the whole treatment that much more comfortable.
Keep in mind that most good tattooists will ask you to return in 4-6 weeks for assessment of the results so far. The tattooist will then fine tune if need be, the colour, shape, length and thickness of your new brows. Please note – this does not mean that you will be walking around with sub-standard brows after the initial procedure – it does mean that the second procedure pulls it all together nicely for a perfect result on completion.

Finally:

Price ????? how long is a piece of string, you are looking from about $400-$800 ( I strongly suggest you dont price search), find the right person for you, and if you need to, secure your booking and save up. After all it is your face!!!
