This is a common concern that keeps many people from trying Permanent Make-Up (PMU), even though it can significantly enhance your beauty and boost your confidence. I hear this a lot during inquiries, and to be honest, I'm also a bit of a chicken when it comes to pain!

How I Make Cosmetic Tattooing Pain-Free

  • Investing in High-Quality, Legal Anesthetics:
    • To ensure comfort during the procedure, I've invested in high-quality, locally-made anesthetic creams.
    • These creams contain legal ingredients with approved strengths, ensuring they are both safe and effective.
    • Before use, these products are rigorously tested to perfect the formula and identify any potential reactions, prioritizing your safety.
  • Use of Topical Numbing Cream:
    • I use a topical numbing cream for all my Cosmetic Tattooing procedures.
    • This makes the process much more comfortable for you, allowing me to focus on creating perfect, beautiful work on your face.

The Procedure: What to Expect

  1. Initial Numbing:
    • The skin is initially numbed to ensure comfort.
    • I then draw the area to be treated.
  2. Continuous Numbing:
    • Numbing cream is reapplied throughout the treatment to maintain comfort.
  3. Factors Affecting Comfort:
    • Your comfort level can be influenced by:
      • Fatigue
      • Being on your period (especially during the first couple of days)
      • Feeling particularly anxious
    • Despite these factors, most clients find the experience surprisingly comfortable (especially if we chat a lot!).

Addressing Common Fears

  • Fear of Needles:
    • Concerned about needles? Don’t worry—this is a common misconception!
    • The needle used in PMU is very fine and pierces the skin gently without leaving a mark.
    • Unlike a regular needle, the PMU process involves a technique that lightly scratches the skin while depositing color simultaneously.
    • In my experience, even a splinter can hurt more than the fine needle used in PMU.
  • Aftercare and Sensations:
    • When the numbing cream wears off, you might feel some slight discomfort, but it’s manageable.
    • Eyes: May feel tender for the rest of the day.
    • Lips: Might feel a bit dry on days 2-4 post-treatment.
    • Overall, the treated area remains quite comfortable.

Will Cosmetic Tattooing Hurt?

  • The Answer: No!
    • In my experience and with my procedure, you won’t feel pain.
    • Not every practitioner uses high-quality anesthetic creams, but I believe every client deserves the best.
